A new musical written by Landon Ashworth PhD
Composed by Jason Pelsey
**WORLD PREMIER**
TO THE MOON is a musical dramedy that brings the space race to vibrant life. The musical is set against the backdrop of the world stage where history’s most famous political and scientific figures race to control the destiny of our planet and the universe beyond. From Mercury, Gemini, to Apollo missions the musical is a night of theater you’ll never forget.
The story is told through the lens of a young woman who is attempting to get into West Point Naval Academy. She knows she’ll be asked to describe a hero she admires in her future career field. Historical figures come to life as she interviews Apollo 11 astronaut Michael Collins. He tells Ali the story of the female mathematicians, secretaries, presidents, and engineers who all came together to land us on the moon. Real life heroes Kathrine Johnson, Poppy Northcut, Deke Slayton, JFK, Eisenhower, and many others take the stage telling the founding of NASA.
